ASCII Thermal Printer for 3101. As part of the Gemstone range, it was cruelly code named Pebble and was also a Repair Centre product. The print mechanism is OEM (Other Equipment Manufacturer) enclosed in IBM covers. As such, this was the first IBM machine with cross head (JIS) screws, needing screwdrivers to be released for the Repair Centres. This was also the first IBM bidirectional printer, but was not a graphics printer with only text and special character output. The paper used is thermal fax rolls. |
