| Reed relays consist of sealed glass tubes containing the magnetically sensitive contacts surrounded by the electromagnet used to operate it. The blue band signified a relay with normally closed as well as normally open contacts. Normally closed contacts were achieved by sandwiching a small permanent magnet between two relay capsules. | |||
