Item Reference:
HW0140
Machine Type:
Schools
Serial Number:
  Schools computer
The Schools Computer System Unit was developed in 1969 to help students discover how a computer works, years ahead of other micros. It used a TV as a monitor, the first machine developed in Hursley to output to a screen, and a standard four-track tape recorder to load and store programmes in machine code, also a world first.

The machine was never produced. Only about 10 were built, and sent to Oxford for evaluation. It shared System/360's SLT technology. This example contains no components!
