Ferranti Counter With Numicators | |||
This Ferranti counter was used on a production line at the manufacturing plant in Greenock.
It is on display to demonstrate how numeric information was presented using Numicators before the advent of 7-segment technology. The Numicator is a neon tube which contains wire frames, one behind the other, containing the outline of each numeral. The high voltage source is connected between a common anode and the desired cathode grid to display the numeral. Further information can be found at: Nixie Clocks Display & Counting Tubes |
